Draken class was a submarine class built for the Swedish Navy from 1960 to 1962. A total of six submarines were delivered. Four of the boats were modernized in 1981–1982. They were a evolutionary step from the previous Hajen Class shown here too.
The Drakens had only one shaft with a larger 5-bladed VARIABLE PITCH propeller for improved underwater performance and reduced noise. The propellor was effective but the large diameter of the blades was exposed when operating on the surface. An early unique engineering answer to propellor cavitation noise.
Actually very cool looking subs with a mix of different features and paint schemes.
