New Subdriver with Snort fittings in the end caps

    Mike and David,
I just noticed in one of the banners a Subdriver decked out with the snort system and the endcaps featured a snort fitting as part of the molding on the end caps.

Can you post some photos of this subdriver, and which SDs now come with this new molded endcaps?

    Thanks

I know the seaview and type 7 come with it now. You can easily make the modification to your endcaps. I have added it to my 3.5.

      John,

The addition of the LPB (I hate the term, 'Snort' ... I wear PINK underwear!I wear PINK underwear!I wear PINK underwear!I wear PINK underwear! British!) sub-system to our line of SubDriver's, as you know, is recent and has followed an 'evolutionary' track.

After some initial fumbeling around I've finally frozen the design and placement of the various fittings and adapters needed to route the induction and discharge plumbing between LPB, induction intake point (within the sail), and discharge point (atop the ballast tank).

As you can see I have developed and now provide with the SubDriver's (those that employ a ballast tank) these fittings. Their job is to insure a more rational routing of external hoses and to make the sub-system a more robust installation; less prone to handling or maintenance damage.

      David,

Looks like I am going to be hopping in around the right time concerning my purchase of the SeaView conversion and R&D impliments like Fixed Vanes and external routing of LPB hoses.

I was initially calling it SNORK, not Snort...as in snorkel.
Maybe better but I like LPB best.
        I'll drink to THAT!

I am liking David and Mike, the new banner photo of the new Low Pressure Blow (snort) fittings in the endcaps and in the WTC per se....Can you please post some larger photos of these.

            Many thanks

Yes, the Snort Fittings give it a neat clean appearance and good way to connect them, a great design, but I can see that it could cause a clearance problem in some models since it's up high above the SD.
It would not easily fit in my Gato, I had run the inlet tube flush against SD, on top, and the outlet tube on bottom side, for the best fit.

I was able to capture the snort pictures, from one of the two banners that show them, but they are small and low-resolution, so difficult to see. :(

I took a pic of mine. The tubes are near the top where the servo arm pass thru. Only had enough juice in the camera for one shot :( I can get more after it recharges.

There are two tubes through the bulckhead. A hose is conneted between them. (Dave sent it that way and I haven't removed it yet...)

Yes, that's the Old style (Tried and True style)
The New design takes all the Hassle and Bother out of connecting it up, external of SD, but also takes out the Creative-Element, which I so Enjoy. :)

Thanks guys, but what I am wanting are some bigger photos of the new re-tooled end caps manufactured by David.

I'll Pm Mike, and when he is back from holidays he might be able to put some up.

                        Best

An external on/off switch is essential.
Here's a link to pictures of the switch installation I did in Gato with 2.5" SD.
I added Switch to SD and it is sealed with RTV (no boot required).
                              (Wire allows activation outside model):
