    Prople gas

Could some one explain to me just how this propel gas within a copper tank is supposed to work?

By venting some gas off the gas tank, the volume mass changes thus, the water is starting to come into the container then as soon as the valve is shut. there is this pressure that is wanting to get out of the container so one would actuate the vent valve. Thanks, JC.

The copper tank is charged with airbrush propellent. A single servo controls thge vent valve at the top of the ballast tank and the copper propel tank. Moving the radio control stick one way opens up the vent valve, allowing the air in the tank to escape; as the air escape out the top, water floods into the ballast tank from the bottom. When the ballast tank is completely full, let the control stick return to neutral position, and the sub should now be at periscope depth. Move the ballast control stick in the opposite direction, and thepropel gas valve is opened, allowing gas to leave the tank; as the gas leaves the tank it expands, forcing the water out the hole in the botom of the ballast tank, causing the sub to surface.

See this article- it should explain the different ballast systems.

Stop messing about - just get a Sub-driver!
