Cutting free flood holes in the lexan tube

A couple of questions for David,

which tools do you employ for cutting the large free flood hole in the base of the ballast tank (lexan tube)?

    How big should these be?

    Thanks

I punch the hole out with a 1" drill-hole cutter then chamfer the edges, inside and out, with an X-Acto knife.

Thanks David, I was thinking of using a speed bore around that size.

Yeah, that sounds like the same tool -- a circular saw with a central drill acting as a centering spindle. This work is best done on the drill press with the cylinder sitting in a V-shaped cradle.

Oh, and I've got your special lengths of Lexan cut up and in the box. It all goes to New York for forwarding to you. Thanks for being patient with us.
