The German 212 Plans & Instructions

    Download here

    Instructions

    Plans

I've just finished my read of The Wizard's instructions, most of my time is spent 'cuss checkin' and I THINK I've got them all. Mind you, he's sneaky and leaves little 'nasties' embedded in the middle of his rantings, er I mean writings. So, help me out guys, check it over and if you see anything that might make your granny blush, let me know and I'll clean it up! Ha! Ha!

Why me, oh Lord? Why me? What have I done to deserve this penance?

      Mike,

You are likely to get some updated U-212 text from David. Having spent my weekend reviewing them, the instructions he drafted are a gift to anybody who wants to build an R/C submarine. He's really covered everything to some degree, though the emphasis on preparation and assembly really stand out. (My sense is that that's where the emphasis should be.)

I can see why you've brought the Wizard into the Caswell Empire. That said, keep him on his toes... We need more out of him. " Sure Pal, nice work, but where are my torpedoes?" Some effusive praise like that should do.

        Damit ... Jim!

(Jim's been cleaning up the text for me -- form and punctuation mostly. Caswell's already taken the juicy stuff out of there).

I met Jim and his delightful family during the closing moments of a National IPMS event hosted by my club here a few years ago. Real Brady Bunch stuff ... just the most clean-cut, well mannered, and nice people you would ever want to meet.

Jim kindly offered to help me with a going-over of the text and I took him up on it. Boy ... the stuff he's found and corrected!

        Thanks, Jim

Read the plans over the w/end. Leave as is the rantings add value.

You read my watered down version, there's a ton of stuff in the bin! Damn - I'm getting good at editing.

(Hey, I actually enjoy reading the uncut versions, but there are so many wooses (sp?) out there that would cry when they read it!)

Anybody who would complain about the commentary embedded in these instructions probably wouldn't have the patience to finish assembling the kit.

It would be easy to edit out the asides, but the result would be less satisfying and less interesting.

Some criticism is best answered by ignoring it! (Or you could just as well say "Sissies!" and everybody else would get it...)

                  David,
Yea, they didn't have to read 3 pages of your usual preface. I deleted it.
Maybe I should post it somewhere?

Hey ho! It's the same old crap guys, "I'm a model maker, you're not even a good kit assembler , blah, blah, blah."
