If you like reading about these boats, try War In The Boats by Wm J Ruhe. I've just finished it, and found it fascinating. I guess it had something to do with the fact that my 'dad's HMS Sibyl was doing similar work in the Mallaca Straights at roughly the same time. Dad's war was with the Japs, who he hated with a passion.
I only wish I'd had more time to ask him more questions before he died. He seemed to still have that 'Silent Service' attitude and really didn't want to talk about these things. He did tell me he was depth charged and strafed by aircraft on a couple of occasions when they sent Jap boats to the bottom with their 3" guns.

Can anyone else recommend any WWII books, especially British adventures?
