At the present, my time only permits the acquisition of just the one r/c model, and that would be the Revell Gato Class submarine by which there should be sufficient tech info provided by Revell. If there is something specific feel free to contact me further. Regards, Al,

Right now the boats that I would travel with are two Revell subs, the 1/72 Gato and 1/72 Type VII. I think most people know the sizes of those kits. Have a good day!

My subs - but not yet built.

        1. Revell Gato.

        2. A wooden 'cut-down' version of a sub loosely based on the RN "O" class (e.g. HMS Ocelot at Chatham).

I'm scaling it up from this month's free plans in "Marine Modelling".

        Length: 1000mm
        Max width is 84 mm.

Unsure about other dimensions as I'm making much of it up as I go along.

          models on hand

          Mike,
          The following information is from memory which should be close without actually going and measuring everything;
Scale Shipyards 1/96'' Akula, approx. 40''long by 5'' dia.
          Robbe U-47 1/40" approx. 60'' long by 5''wide x6'' high
          Revell Gato 1/72'' approx. 52'' long x 4'' wide x 5'' high
          Revell Type VII 1/72'' approx. 36'' long x 3'' wide x 4'' high
          Trumpeter type 212 1/144'' approx. 12''long x 2''wide x 2.5 high

Hope this helps. I can do a actual measure if it is needed.
          Frank

Mike, based on the big response to the survey so far, I think you are going to make a killing with these boxes. Great idea, and a product much needed by this community.

                    David,

I need some more boxes and honestly dont feel like building more after the last run. I think you will make a killing aswell. A box is just good sense.

You know, this may be a pretty good idea for small to medium sized surface runners ("targets") too. I can see a carrying case for say, the 1/35th scale Italeri PT boat or the 1/32 Lindberg PT 109. (I'm a PT boat builder, what can I say?)
