Yes, with outstanding warrants and mug-shots on file at INTERPOL offices throughout the world.

        I stand corrected.

          That's not fair, Dave.

We have Sheerline, OTW, Models by Design etc.

Some of these models may not be exact scale, but they've never been sold as such. Some of the moulds (i.e the Darnell boats) date back over 40 years when information was more tricky to obtain than these days.

There may have been a few bad hulls produced by a company that will remain nameless, but that certainly doesn't reflect the normal state of affairs.

Alan Poole is a brilliant modeller, and a nice chap to boot. To the best of my knowledge there are only three or four boats in existence.

Nigel Edmonds is the best man to speak to about RC-ing Alan's X-craft, he made a nice version with ballast shifting, and it just pootles around the lake at periscope depth all day long- a very stable craft.

You can see a brief clip of it 47 seconds in on the filmi shot at a sub run a couple of years ago.

This was taken at Colney Heath on Sunday June 18th 2006. It was a fun run for owners of model submarines. About fifteen people turned up, and there were abo...

The boat docked today in Palmyra NY.

WOW! The hull is much bigger than the Darnell model, at 52", so methinks the scale is 1:12.
The detail on the tail fins looks perfect, and I must say, that apart from that, the Darnell hull is very similar. I see no major flaws in it.

What is just fantastic, is that Alan Poole has sent me a CD with a host of photos of his model. The accuracy looks stunning.

I told you it was chunky.

What's the plan with this, are you going to kit it, or just get that one going?

We are going to build a mold from this hull, make a new fittings kit and sell it.
