    Rochester NY ham radio meet

Last weekend I attended the Hamfest show in Rochester, NY. I was busy the whole day showing off my nine models. The only problem was there was no water anywhere, so I mentioned this and here is the response from the club.

    Hi Guys,

We had our committee meeting Wednesday and went over ideas to
improve next year. I jokingly said it would be great if they could
dig a pond for our RC Boats and Subs people.

While that would not be possible, they do have an alternative. The
firemen have the ability to erect a 12' x 12' x 3' deep pool made of
canvas. While it doesn't allow for the subs to go under too far they
could submerse. And the Battleships could maneuver around a bit.

Let me know what you think of this idea and if you are considering
coming back next year. I will pass on your thoughts to the new
committee who will begin meeting in September and clubs will be
contacted formally a few months later. I will be passing on the clubs
contact job to another member next year, but plan to be involved in
other areas and will definitely see you again if you return in 2010.

Thanks again for joining us this year. You were very popular with
many of the folks I spoke with.

That would suit the little SKIPJACK just fine. You could just maneuver the 1/144 KILO in there as well. But a 12' X 12' 'box' is not much to maneuver in, Mike. Can they extend it to 20' X 20' maybe?

It's good to see that the organizers are interested in working with us. And thanks for attending, and 'showing the colors', Mike.
