N Korea sucessfully launches mossile from submarine

The thought of it prevokes visions of a boomer launching Tridents. In reality you can picture Kim Jong Un, lighting a bottle rocket from the tower of an old Romeo. I suspect that they did launch some sort of rocket from the deck of that old green tub he has been seen riding in. Tacticlly speeking, they have to be on the surface to launch, so as soon as they pop up...poof, "Instant introduction to Budda". South Korea would be the only target area due to limited range of the rockets. Their general battle plan is to sneek down the coast and lay off shore and lob those missiles at the targets. They would be like fleas on a dogs butt. Soon as one bites, the dog scratches and nibbles till the flea Be Gone! You know as soon as the sub crew sets "Special sea and anchor detail" at Pip'agot or Ch'aho the only 2 sub bases. The big eye in the sky takes the picture and alerts the ASW to put the finger on the button. Meanwhile Kim and his associates think they can extend their missile threat down the pininsula to the industrial cities rather than blowing up some mud hut village a few miles south of the border. OK Rant over! back to the grind.

Yeh, primitive stuff, BUT there are some people that take it very seriously due to the unknown, unknowns. Some of their stuff actually works and if it actually works in an unexpected place then ****s are trumps. A pound of PE in your cornflakes will get your attention.

We've gone from MAD to we'll-wait-till-we-get-Nuked alert status. Thanks Dem's. Oh, wait ...

... WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE!

There. All fixed. Lov'n that hope-and-change thing. Working out great on all fronts.

Not many "Unkmowns" when it comes to submarines and where and how many of what are there. I was one of the people who took it seriously, for quite somwetime. I know information thats not privey to non military personel. Basic fact is the only subs they have capable of launching a surface cruise missile are the few Romeos that still run. (less than 20) The other boats are either Sang O class or Yono class 30 to 40 meter coastal patrol types. Mostly used for special ops deployment of insergants and coastal defence. Heres a sat pic of the Pip"A-Got sub pier with 3 Romeos and the rest are Sang Os. Easy to sopt a deck mount launcher on the deck, If there would be one. This is an old dataed pic of the pier. ID:	98497if you go to google earth and zoom in on the Ch'aho where the majority of the Romeos are, you see all the boats they have, in port the day of that pic, somewhere around 15 or so. The global stationary satalite that is dedicated to that area is watched 24-7 by the intelegance community. Once any activity is indicated in real time it immediatly is known when they fire up the diesels. SOSUS takes over the tracking of the vessel when it gets underway. No surprises, there. We know where everybody is and isnt and where they are going. Just a small mater of "rules of engagement" at this time. If need be, they can be taken out, at the source. The resolution of the milspec pictures is so good, you can tell the rank of the guys walking on the deck. In theory, we can heat the coffee in the Captains cup with an airborne laser if we want to. Ship board mounted can be bounced off a satalite over the horrizon, so we can respond without even being in their ocean.

OOps, I stand correctd. Korean sub that launched the ballistics is the new Sinpo class DE sub. So far one has been completed. Developing an IBM system is beyond all the NATO restrictions and sanctions. They already detonated a couple nukes in 2013 so there is no question of capabilities. Might be a good time to pre empt with a test of our own with LARS system and fry that fish at the dock. Or send some operators to go over and swipe the keys to the boat. Dennis Rodman could do it, when Kim isnt looking.

OK heres the sat pic of Sinpo number 1 in Dec 2014. The experimental launchers are in the conning tower, not in the hull, like a boomer. 2 weapons tubes.taken by "38north" eye at Wosan baselate December 2014 during loading. Heres a model builder challange. Build one with working missiles. Rather limited info, but it sure would tick off the Koreans.

Just skimming the feasability building Sinpo, I did a little research. RPK got ahold of a Yugoslave, Die-Elect that was decomissioned in the 70s and in a museum. They de enginered the Heroj, one of 3 built in the 60s, a spinn off from mutha russia's Oscar hand me down.. the Sinpo is the Korean prototype copy. Simple drawings are available for the Heroj, and Sinpo. Not too complex lines.Basiclly a tube with a nose cone and a tail cone. A deck structure and limbers, like a Romeo/ Nautilus 571 type XXIII. 2 Bottle rockets in some verticle tubing, electric match ignition and condoms over the tubes for blow away doors. U Tube video......Reprocussions at the UN General Assembley.
