    Boyancy, stability et al

A general question. Is it better to mount the SD as low as possible within a hull; as high as possible; or, at mid-line within the hull? Vladimir is sending me an Oscar II and there is LOTS of room in there and hence, lots of options in the positioning of the SD. Views?

Put the top of your WTC at the same level as the full-surfaced trim waterline. Put it any higher and you're wasting ballast tank volume, put it any lower and you're wasting potential metacentric height.

See. This why I ask you guys questions. I'm still attempting to FIND my metacentric height, (and the bathroom, kitchen, my wife etc etc - getting old sucks!). Thanks Mate; succinct and helpful.
