New sub from Revell....not what I was hoping for

So, while fun....it is not the Balao sub I have been begging for, or a accurate IJN sub, or a Foxtrot, or a Nuatilus, or a ...... You get the idea. Might be a good way to introduce to the kiddie about rc submarines!
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

You can always customise it. Change the toy hull and make the guts fit a 1:72 scale seehund or the Hunley or IJN midjets Maybe a 1/4 scale Italian 2 man torpedo. Or just paint the boat black and grey.

Did you manage to get it apart?

I have same sub by a different company repainted a as civilian DSRV, took some fine sanding of original paint work to get any paint to stick! Eventually I hope to be able to lanch it from my Salvage tug with a working crane...

It looks like late 2015 though - 11/2015 maybe enough time for the Type IX Sub-Driver to be released (subtle aren't I?)

            There is more!
            Crew for the subs!

            Also 11/2015 release.
I have seen this mentioned, but never saw it for sale. Maybe now it is official.
            Nice announcement for 2015!

My friend from Revell of Germany told me about that kit when she came to visit in October. Glad I hadnt started to chop up one of my good hulls to make a U234. She said around November 2015 retail, but they already gave out the promo kits to the "A"list people. I havent gotten one so I must be on the "B" list. She wouldnt tell me the release date for the kit Im waiting for. Somehow William Bauer's name came up in the conversation. Thats about all I can say about that. I think that the Revell Crew figgures have been around, for awhile just a newer delux package of old molds. I think I have so many figgures at parade rest left over, to make an entire crew on deck in the dress uniform.
