    Subsmarines so small

Hi Im a newbie and never sailed on a submarine or even been near one for any length of time of our blue water navy. I'm a Coastie or had 4 years in it. I also build model ships and mostly in 1/96 scale of ships I like. I also built every ship that my brothers and my dad sailed on in the US Navy and the USCG. I recently bought a 1/96 scale Soviet Alpha class submarine and waited and waited for its arrival to my house. Upon arrival I was surprised by how relatively small the box was and how small the submarine is at 1/96 scale as compared to my Dad's Patrol Frigate he was on in WWII, the USS Muskegon and a 1/96 scale model of a US frigate the FF-1051 USS O'Callahan. I had another brother who served on the nuclear submarines during the cold war. Just a comment on the size of subs to surface targets as you call them.

What is it, the Scale Shipyard kit? If so, a nice kit.
