Any ships that entered the Persian Gulf would be attacked by Iranian speed boats disguised as commercial fishing boats, The Aviationist reported. Once preoccupied with the missiles of the Iranian speedboats, the targeted ship would then be attacked by Iranian submarines, followed by its air force.

Seems like a bit of propaganda from the Iranian Tourist Bureau. Kind'a makes you wonder. Why even bother having Submarines if everybody is willing to commit suicide by attacking US warships from little surface power boats. Just lash a torpedo to each (African Queen style) and let the Duck Shoot begin. I believe the water in the Persian Gulf only averages about 50 meters in depth making it pretty hard to hide anything from aircraft visual sighting, let alone a good anti-submarine sensor. There are some 90 meter depth areas, but those would be like lunker fishing holes to the US Navy. Now if any of the Subs are carrying a Nuke that would be a whole new game.

Vapour wear, remember how the Iraqi guard were so powerful before the invasion, and then faded into the background. The Iranians will be the same. They will probably be able to get a kill or too in a major conflict, but their pants will be on their heads pretty quickly.

The general populace in Iran doesn't want or need this ****. Given time there will be rebellion and it will go away. Messing with the politics in the region will destabilise one side or another and make the mess worse as we've seen in Iraq.

If you ever get to talk to a real Iranian you will find them nice people who just want to live their lives. The smart ones get out, and unfortunately that leaves a higher percentage of crazies who the media love to get on film .
