    Getting my feet wet....

After years of static builds, I've been infected with the bug. I'm finally going to put a boat in the water!
Before you get too enthused, it will be a surface runner as the close by pond, although large, is a weed infestation.

I purchased another DeBoer Seaview Concept II and Bob Martin is going to R/C ready her. After he does all the dirty work, I'll make her look pretty.

BTY: my real job is composing music for documentary film. A few years back, my partner and I scored a film for PBS: Secrets of the Dead series,
"Japan"s Super Sub". If you've not seen the episode, you can find it on the net. It's the back story of the I-400; fascinating stuff. Would love to build one of these someday.

      Wow, David!
Very nice installs for the DeBoer. Yours will be the next creation. Right now, "I'm not that strong a swimmer".
Assume you used earth magnets for the sail planes. Do you have any footage of the Seaview in action?

Here, try this on for size, Tom:

DeBoer Hulls Concept-2 SEAVIEW model assembled and outfitted for r/c operation. System explanation.

I got some underway footage as well. Will load that later today or tomorrow to Youtube.

(And a shout-out to Andy Lawrence for getting me straight on how to post video to Youtube ... thanks, Andy!).

          M,
I am sure it hurt a lot, but videos on youtube! Welcome to the 21st century.
Look forward to more coming from your production house.
          Peace,
          Tom

If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

            And ... here ... we ... are!

Initial in-water testing of the r/c converted DeBoer Hulls, Concept-2 SEAVIEW model submairne. This run was to establish turning radius, depth control, and v...

Keep in mind that there have been improvements made since this initial test of the model. Though still a bit of a beast in the water, it is drivable.

Good job Dave and Rose. Looks like you need a bit more HP and set the gimble to turn tighter, But you knew that. Thanks for the video.
IT TAKES GREAT INTELLIGENCE TO FAKE SUCH STUPIDITY!

                Thanks, David.
The assembly video was masterful and the test video shows she needs a wide berth!
