Sub Regatta down under in Octoer 2013

Recently my wife and I went to the sub regatta held down in Gosford which is approximately 1100 Kilometers from home. Normally Sandy hates being in the car for more than a few hours, to which we had discussions of many about but she didn't want me to drive that far on my own. How ever next year when I attend the Canberra one she stated very clearly that I can drive and she'll fly down when I get there.

The week end was a real treat for me as I had never been to one before and I was able to drive my boats deeper than my scopes just skimming the surface due to the water in most of the local ponds being murky and less than favorable to diving subs deeper than periscope depth. Also I realized I have been spending so much time editing all the videos and picture that I hadn't posted any shots from the event BLUSHER

      Alec,

Beautiful venue. Was that the big, 24" Teskey FS-1? If so, I did the fittings kit for that beast.

Yes it was the Teskey hull and it was a beauty to behold that for sure.

My Skipjack was a dream to run and I took your advice and dialed back the throttle to 40 on the epa which was like a reinvention of its handling. In fact it was the first time I actually drained the battery to it's limits and the sas preformed as expected. The only glitch to the week end was that there was some issues with radio interference which we put down to the chlorine levels being a bit high. The only issue that caused in the Skipjack was that if I didn't close the ballast vent the ballast servo wouldn't operate when the signal came back so when the sas kicked in the air blew straight out of the ballast vent... Lesson for me was to close the vent after flooding the tank, something I do get a bit lazy with because at home in the local ponds I won't go below periscope depth.
        Cheers,
        Alec.

I'm not sure. All I can tell you is that it was around or over 6 feet long and that the owner, Pat, has rigged it to fire torpedoes. here it is near a 1/72 sub which I think is a Seawolf

              I don't think so. I believe that is a 1/32nd scale T-class.
