    The Hunt For Red October still today is the best novel I have ever read.
    This book got me into the RC sub hobby. Sad to see him gone.

      Yes, he gave us a lot of fun time reading his novels. Now he's joined the crews on ethernal patrol. Rest in peace.

              Great writer! His home on the Chesepeake Bay was on the site where the where the summer camp I attended each summer for 3 weeks from the age of 8 till I was 13. Here I first fired a rifle, rowed a boat, paddled a canoe, learned to swim etc. I tried to visit the site back in 2007 but there was no admittance!
