Ok so most of us know that the signal through salt water is just about non existant, but a growing trend in my country is for backyard pools to use salt added to chlorine to chlorinate the water. The working behind this is that salt via some reaction within the filteration system generates chlorine, meaning that the pool needs less concentrated chlorine to be added directly to the pool water and users of the pool have less red eyes to complain about.
BUT ... what does this method of chlorination do to signal for our RC subs?
Is it a case of suck it and see?
I have never used a backyard pool to sail in and typically always use fresh water lakes and dams, and the odd Olympic pool when my boat club can organise a meet at such venues.
