Aren't those locating tabs a pain to make!

I've been looking for something ready made in a strip to use as a locating tab solution and I came up with this, a castellated plastic strip.

Has anyone else seen anything else like this that could be used instead of gluing in individual tabs?

I also found some metal ones here

Maybe they could be used as a template for folks to cut from grp or pvc strips?

The tabs should also be 'cupped' to conform to the curvature of the hull -- a situation that dictates purpose built tabs (inexing tabs that hold the model submarine hull halves in proper registration). I don't think the Bee tabs will do the trick, Mike.

Cupping them should be relatively easy. A hot-air gun and a piece of dowel should enable the modeler to cup them nicely.

I only wish I could come up with a way of cutting the castellations from styrene.

You have to snip them from the joining piece, then heat them up and cup them. You are making this task too labor intensive. Labor = Money!

        You evil industrialist, you!

Methinks 'tis the other way round sir. My intent was to glue the entire section onto the 'gunwale'. ( mean along the waterline cut) so the tabs are sticking out and the rest of the strip is glued inside and below the edge.

I had not considered that means of use. Neat.

Of course the upper hull has the same section glued in, ensuring that it interlocks with the lower section. Success is guaranteed.

Will someone come up with a way of cutting this out?
