Belt-Sander, Hand-held

My Proxxon hand-held Belt-sander is quickly becoming my favorite tool, for building ship models. Its fast and easy, and can be operated with one hand. The belt-head can be rotated for easy access.
It's making quick work of shaping and cleaning up the fiberglass T-class parts.
It's fairly new on the market, I got mine for Christmas. :)

One side of belt has a backing-plate, to be used on flat surfaces, and the other does not, to be used on curved surfaces. It has a speed-control and gear reduction, for a very slow minimum speed. It's a little larger than a Dremel-tool. The belts come in, I think, 3 different grits and are very durable.

Yes, my wife desided it would be better to spend the money, than for me to call her to help Hold stuff, I was sanding, all the time. :D LOL :D

Oh, that's right, you got the one-hand deal working for you. That tools would be a big aid at the bench then. Only trouble is -- five years from now, will those belts still be commercially available?

It is a nice unit.
I want to get a drill press station for my dremel.
Its nice to have loved ones buy you model stuff.

You never know, so I went ahead and got enough belts to last at least 10 years. :D
They are durable and will last a long time, tho.
