This is a solar fish! It dispenses small amounts of chemical which leaves a thin film on the surface of a swimming pool and prevents evaporation.

Inside is a pump -- Click image for larger version

I cut around the plastic welded cover with a Japanese saw and, as I thought, there it was, a tiny peristaltic pump and a 6volt 150 motor drivi
    ng a geared pump.

Whether it has any use or not, I'll let you guys figure that out, but for about $20, it has to be a cheap way of getting a pump.

Mike's sending me one for evailuation. As it appears -- there's a worm-gear between motor and pump rotor, so the gear ratio is very high --the output CFM's is incredibly small. But, I think we have a useful mast raising/lowering pump and hovering system prime-mover if I slave that pump to a 380 or 500 sized motor of a lower gear ratio.

        Stay tuned, sports fans!
