    SM U1 Build on RCBOOT

There is a mighty nice build going on over at RCBOOT for those who appreciate the older subjects. I still kick myself in the arse for not having visited the Deutches Museum years ago when I was passing through Munich.

I've been keeping an eye on that build.

Nice job, but I can't fathom his approach to mould making- he seems to have made four solid chunks of resin for the casting, and apart from the cost in materials they must weigh a fair bit.

the picture hosting service used at that site is a bit over-the-top me thinks. I'm not a prude, but come on!

I use Firefox browser and have the adblock add-on which blocks out most banners and advertsing including all those annoying adverts at the start of youtube vids these days.

LOL! Considering those popup & banner adverts are tied to cookies from past web searches, it does say something about what sites you're visiting, David. I get nothing but "take a free MIT or Harvard learning course, via the web" ad.

No worries, happens to me too over on RCGroups but for some odd reason the ads are all about Thai lady boys...

Getting serious for a change, I've sent a note to Glenn to see if we can get him to post some updated pics of his U-35 project. I believe the last he said was that he planned to build a larger 1:48 version version for RC. Who knows, maybe Mike can offer some early German hull kits one day?

Good looking boat. But .... so, so esoteric, Chuck. No market, me thinks.

True, similar to the M1 or K boats that will never see mass-market appeal.

                  Here's one Glenn's U-31 that's a static build.
