You cut the holes out but you can put sheetrock repair mesh over them. They look better than the plain holes, look like grates and it helps filter the trash from entering your hull.

Don't get anal on the small stuff, Leelan. You ain't that good yet.
Just assemble the model with big, square, gapping holes in the bottom and be done with it.
You get bogged down in such minutia, you'll never finish the project.

Geez. At this rate I'm going to get busted down to Ensign pretty soon.
With my work and travel schedule I can only do anything modelwise on Wednesday and Sunday. The rest of the time, a few minutes here and there between getting home and going to bed, I do research online to get ideas, to see how to do something or to ask silly questions.
BTW what I learn from building the SKIPJACK will go into finally finishing my Jules Verne NAUTILUS, which (as you know) has been years in the making.
