Indeed. Being lead-man on a traditional plastic model kit was near the top of my bucket-list. That one's been checked off now.

However, success has many fathers: I had a lot of help. Guy's like you, for example; selfless, knowledgable, cooperative people were involved on this and other projects.

No man is an island, as they say. Thanks, Chuck.

I agree, congratulations is in order. This kit will be a blast to build and patrol with. David, it is an honor.
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Looks more like a lock and quick release, probably for the SubDriver.

On the other matter, i guess a quickrelease is the best option, Phew, glad that i've got to build my XVIIb, so i can resist this awfull beautiful kit.

LOL. Yes. Caswell permitted me a leave-of-absance to work with Moebius on that kit. But, now that the work is done -- back to the Cave.

Come on -- you know you want to dig into that big, beautiful, well running SKIPJACK. Take a break from that awful type-17 of yours. Look into my eyes! ... you're feeling sleepy .... you will obey my every command ... you will buy the SKIPJ.....

I need to correct my last post. I thought it was a quick release, but I must have been hallucinating. It is a shock-absorber for protecting the sub-driver from damage due to impact or jarring. Just trying to keep honest.

And you'd think the R&D Dept would tell the Marketing Dept of these little add-ons, wouldn't you! Sheeesh! Wot a W anker I have to deal with!
Stop messing about - just get a Sub-driver!
