The 100 guys with the AK's right, but the Uzi boys will inflict a lot of damage.
And then how does the 100 AK guy look when the guy across the pond with 100 more machine guns turns up. He still looks like a loser, and China never wants to be seen to lose

At which point the Japanese will regret their reluctance to embrace fissionable's in weaponized form.

One would think that the Japanese had gotten the message about the effectiveness of nuclear weapons near the start of the nuclear era.

Acceptable losses springs to mind to ultimately win? Quick way to balance an over the top population growth curve the other player has.
Do people actually think along those lines today? Kind of scary.
The power infastructure of one island is pretty dodgey? Would'nt take much to brown it out.

        No game playing for me.

I did nine patrols as a Launcher Tech -- some of them in the Sea of Japan. Waiting to help pull the trigger on China (I, of course, had no idea what was in the target-package, above my pay-grade, but a fool would assume anything but Chinese population centers was on the hit list).

Japan does not have the nuclear card to slam down on the table when playing against others so equipped. The current flap over those islands, for example. Japan is out-gunned when push comes to shove. Japan either grows a set, and makes some bombs and a credible delivery system, or they back away from these type confrontations.

We, the United States, needs a surrogate in that region with teeth (like Israel in the Mediterranean). We're spread too thin to rush the fleet in there each time these oriental types (China-Japan, China-Taiwan, China-Vietnam and South Korea-North Korea) go face-to-face over something.

Also been up into the Spratleys, in Malaysian sector, here also is Malaysian infrastructure. Suddenly the oil is out there everyone wants a piece, i think those who have invested before the oil should get the lions share. China's claimed border is simply ludicrous.

Anyway despite my usual neutral stance over Iran, yeah they are idiots, but its the rulers, kick them out and Iran will be another Libya/ Egypt etc. I think the latest revelations over their Nuke work is getting scary, even if it turns out to be like the WMD's that Iraq supposedly had. I think Iran is now beyond saving, especially while china is stoking them up. Kick em in the balls now! They are Shia so the other Arab nations probably wont be too put out by us messing in their affairs

Reuters has a good article today on the PLAN's new toy that's aptly titled China's Aircraft Carrier: In Name Only
