    Iran Designing Nuke Boats

Boy, this should be entertaining to watch!

Iran has begun to design its first nuclear submarine, the Islamic Republic's semiofficial news agency Fars reported on Tuesday.

The Fars report quotes deputy navy chief in charge of technical affairs, Rear Admiral Abbas Zamini, as saying that Iran has begun "initial stages" of designing the nuclear-powered craft.

Further commenting on the Iranian Navy's plan to manufacture super heavy nuclear-powered submarines, Zamini said: "Right now, we are at the initial phases of manufacturing atomic submarines… Iran has made astonishing progress in developing and acquiring civilian nuclear technology for various power-generation, agricultural and medical purposes."

In 2011, Iran launched a Tareq-class submarine, "Younus," (or was that yourANUS??)
which sailed alongside Tehran's 14th fleet of into the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

Only a matter of time right. They will probably have a very protracted development , just like the Chinese.
IT TAKES GREAT INTELLIGENCE TO FAKE SUCH STUPIDITY!

Actually, it's probably a way around what's called the Fissile Material Cut-off Treaty (FMCT), which is designed to cut out the "supply" of highly enriched uranium (HEU) used for nuclear weapons.

Nuclear naval reactors need the high grade stuff, too. (Little hot rocks are better than big warm rocks when you're working in tight spaces and want to keep the heat on for a while.)

So, if you say you're building a naval reactor, there's "justification" for HEU--and for HEU production. And, yeah, there's no disadvantage in taking your time about actual production as long as you declare your intentions in time...

Iran is simply a terrorist state period. Freedom loving people everywhere should be concerned.

They arent much different from Libya, probably better, because there is a larger educated midddle class (although living overseas), lop off a few heads at the top and it would all change. Untill we buggered up Iraq it was all working well because Iran and Iraq balanced each other out.

Mounting a minaret on top of the sail is going to play havoc with the metacentric height!

              Good grief!

My wife visited her sister in Wiltshire last month and she was amazed at the amount of Bhurkas walking around the streets in these sleepy thatched cottage towns and villages! It's just wrong and SOooo not British. Someone needs to follow the example of France and ban this form of dress. They'll be putting minarets on Stonehenge next!

Perhaps they are simply trying to imitate Queen Victoria's mourning dress?

Once the Iranian's have enough bomb-quality U-235 in hand American cities will start winking out of existance.

                  What are we waiting for?

Several years ago I visited the Motor Museum in Coventry. Near by is the bombed out remains of the Coventry Cathedral. All I saw were woman in head scarves and dark complexioned men with beards sitting and standing around on the benches which formed part of the inside of the Cathedral. They surely didn't help defeat the Third Reich in WWII which was the cause of the destruction in the first place!

There will be no croaking allowed- enough said.
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.
