I was having a look on kickstarter and came across this project:
It seems like a really interesting project, these guys seem to have thought it through, and as it's open source, all the plans, decisions and programming will be available once it's done too. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, just thought you guys might like to check out their design.
Definitely a project to watch.
