ESC interaction Mtroniks Viper 25 plug and play and Marine 15

I looked at the Mtroniks forum thread but seems hardly active, so forgive post here. My submarine repairs, after a sinking, now use two esc as above. The smaller one for pump and the larger one motor. The smaller one in the front of the cylinder has the positive lead disconnected to not use the BEC, the larger one does provide RC power. runs 10 NIMH.
I've seen similar problems before which were solved by the addition of an opto isolator, however having tried one on the pump channel it will not work, I am at a loss to understand why (i.e. no signal).
Can anyone suggest a remedy to either the problem as a whole or the non operating isolator. (Mtroniks).
    Thanks.
    Paul.

Don’t know is it a signal level issue? Try a bit of substitution, check both esc’s work fine when plugged directly to their respective channels, try swapping the isolator to the other esc. Does the opto isolator work with something else like a servo etc. if you have access to a scope try monitoring the pulse out of the isolator.

Hi thanks for the reply, the isolator is fine it works in my surface vessel. If I were to use it in the main esc BEC line that would surely take out the RC power, as presumably all three wires are opto isolated ? I'm actually wondering now if a seperate BEC may let me use the isolator as you describe !

      Thanks
      Paul.

Possibly. Depends how the isolator is wired. Should be easy to check with a volt/multimeter

I have now solved the issue thus .......... I should have remembered my tug with multiple ESC from Mtroniks didn't like the one battery concept either. I have now disabled the second BEC in the ESC's as well and used a Castle Creations BEC with an opto isolator on the throttle signal line. The interference is now gone ! At least I can continue to use one battery in the sub instead of trying to re ballast and use two.

My flooded dive tube has wiped out all the RC gear so an expensive lesson learned.

            Thanks for help.
            Paul.
