    FAULTY ? SUB-ES1 switches

Over the past few months, we have had several complaints regarding this switch, resulting in them being returned to the manufacturer for repair/replacement. Well, it seems we were wrong in the assumption that there was a defect. There isn't!

    Read below, please

We've figured out the problem (we meaning Merriman) and it's the translation from Chinese that was the main culprit.

The switch needs to be initially set using a 3 position channel and then it works perfectly.

The SUB-ES1 is a three-position switch, (on, neutral, off) therefore needs to see the initial 'neutral' to operate as a two position switch. We were using ch 5, which is two position, so the setup could not find neutral.

The initial set-up calls for establishing the 'neutral' position when going through the initial start-up protocol -- this sets the ES-1's logic to read neutral.

    1. Tx on with all sticks in 'neutral' position.
    2. plug SubES1 into any channel 1 through 4.
    3. switch on Sub-driver and wait 10 seconds
    4. switch off Sub-driver
    5. Switch off Tx
    6. Move SubES1 to channel 5 (on/off toggle)
    7. Tx on
    8. Sub-driver on ON PATROL!

Stop messing about - just get a Sub-driver!
Working...
