First, I'm not a sub guy... on top of the water is more my style. But I do like things with torpedoes- PT boats especially.
Problem: The PT boat community has plenty of historical drawings from NARA (particularly for the Elco PTs), and additional sources for the Higgins PTs.
In the case of the Elcos though, all the armament is NOT in the NARA record group that contains the boats themselves.
In particular, the boats' torpedo tubes, which were designed and constructed by Electric Boat in Groton. A small number of tube drawings have made their way into the community from mysterious sources, but I'm sure SOMEWHERE at NARA we could find the rest. Perhaps associated with Electric Boat material.
Question: Has anyone here plumbed the depths of NARA for Groton drawings, and perhaps stumbled across PT boat torpedo tubes?
