        That's a detail about him I didn't know. Are his comic books popular in the US? I thought overseases it's all about Marvel and DC....

          You are correct about American preferences in comics. Tin-tin over here had a very limited, but focused audience -- hardware nuts like me (and, if I may, you!). Herge's work, even to these teenage eyes, had all the trappings of a classically trained Draftsman -- his grasp of perspective and precision of lines and curves denoted skilled use of a designer's tools and skills. He graphics were leaps and bounds better than just about any illustrator I know of in the field... with perhaps the exception of Wally Wood and a few other pen-and-ink guys who evidenced such talent and attention to detail.
