3D printing

A question here for a semi retired guy enjoying time with hobbies finally.....

A long term project is my SM U-35. I have done a fair amount of Epoxy/Kevlar layup. Learned that from the shipwright who built the masts for the the USS Constellation (the wood one, not the FFG under construction). I was planning on doing a lost foam model for the U-35 with a Kevlar hull, but I have to wonder if a 3D printer is the way to go. Prices are coming down, and I have time to deal with availability. If so, which model? EEGLO Jupiter or something else?

I frankly don't know. I have seen filament used - we had one in a lab, but some of the resin stuff looks good as well. What I don't have a good read on is how strong the materials are, etc.

I don't have much experience yet with resin printed hulls but my filament printed ABS hulls are proving to be strong and durable. Do you have files to print a U-35?

I settled on a Ender 6, and after some major fits with ASA I upgraded to a Micro Swiss direct drive print head. It is now printing ASA hull sections on a UB1 very reliably.

I need to design the U-35. Have been collecting references. Super detail is not the goal, at least on the first go.
