Oh, man! Wish I had some of these shots when I was painting the OTW model. Thanks, Mark. Amazing finds, you never fail to come through with the goods.

HMS Artemus slated for demolition.
An Oberon already cut up. You can see clearly some of her construction details
HMS Seraph
HMA Virtue
HMS Tactician
HMS Trenchant. This picture is 1024 x 708 in size. On my computer it fills the whole screen. Its beautiful. No matter what I do, on this forum it comes out small. Smaller pictures tend to come out bigger on this forum.

Trivia Question, in the first picture you can see a square of fabric on the the shoulders of the seaman. What is the purpose of this , and what relationship does it have to a popular nick name for sailors back in the day?Next time someone points out it takes 42 muscles to frown, point out it will only take 4 muscles to b1tch slap them if they tell you how mnay muscles you need to smile:popComment

Back in the Day, sailors would tie their hair back in a ponytail, this was then dipped in Tar, dunno exactly why but something to do with it not getting caught in Rigging.
When they went ashore in their whites the tar would stain the back of the uniform, so the square of cloth was added to stop the tar going on the uniform.
hence the name Jolly Jack Tar, or i guess in some cases not so jolly.Next time someone points out it takes 42 muscles to frown, point out it will only take 4 muscles to b1tch slap them if they tell you how mnay muscles you need to smile:popComment
