Putting Lights in Ship Models

On the suject of putting operating lights in ship models, I've gone to a lot of effort to install them on several ships, but then I very seldom turn them on. Out in the daylight, at the lake, no one can tell the very small lights are on, so why use battery power for something no one can see. Of course I never take them to a lake at night.
Now if you have a large swimming pool and can run your ship or Sub at night, with the pool-lights off, then lights would be 'Really Cool'. :)
