I devised a way to attach a nut to inside of upper hull, for the screw that holds deck/cover-assembly onto hull.
I cut a piece of scrap plastic (removed from upper hull) to fit in position, drilled a hole in it, then Heated a nut with soldering-iron, with screw installed to keep threads clean and to hold onto with needle-nose plyers. Then Melted the plastic by pressing the hot nut into it.
Then, after cleaning away the excess melted plastic, glued plastic piece in place, with nut between hull and the piece with nut in it.
This captures the nut, not letting it move or spin when installing and removing deck/cover.
Very light-weight and simple to fabricate. :)
