    Ha, I dident know you were that old.

    WTF is that thing? looks like a farm cutting impliment. Dont see how it would stop a torpedo, minus jamming it in the tube!

      The Canadians came up with something called the Foxer - towed behind a ship it decoyed the GNAT (German Naval Acoustic Torpedo), I initially thought it might be some of towed noise maker BUT this is 1888 - many many years before acoustic torpedoes. The inventor (no relation) was an ideas man. - Shame he could not explain it to the Naval Authorities at the time. Looks to me like some sort contemporary modern artist's wet dream.
