    Type 209 frustrates Nato

In a recent exercise the South African navy type 209 played havoc with Natos antisubmarine forces.http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums...e-outwits-NATO Maybe it was due in part to this High Tech propellor that was installed on some of their boats. Of course if you could detect the sub would you be forthcoming about it or would you hide the fact to throw them off guard?Click image for larger version

YUP! I have heard rumur that the US Navy has a Pinger so strong that it destroys the other sides sonar gear. Obviously you wouldnt do that in exercises with friendly nations. But you also wouldnt want them to know that you could destroy their ears at any moment either.
