Notice how the sail extends down over the sides and is farred in well. Nice touch.

These are excellent finds, Greenman. May I go on to say that your posting of these high quality, and sometimes hard to find, photos has been a real boon to this hobby. I'm sure I'm not the only one wishing to express gratitude for your work here and at the other sites.

                David,

Thanks Dave, I expend about 95% of my efforts at this site because of greater participation and traffic for what I post. The other site I think is almost dead.

                    The other sites are dead!

They just don't know it yet. They keep dressing up my old stuff in new tights and presenting it as, 'new'. Entropy is setting in.

Last one out of the SubCommittee, please get the lights.

                    David,

The sub with Kiel painted on the sail is the Papanikolos when it was in limbo. (HDW said it was ready, but the Hellenic Navy said "es defekt.") It was accepted by the Greeks in OCT-NOV 2010 after 4 years of wrangling...

The Portuguese unit (Tridente) is a Type 209 PN, which is what you call a Type 214 that's afraid of French lawyers.

The Koreans are building nine total, with three units already active. (One is in the drydock photo that has the Ronald Reagan in the background.)
