Im not sure exactly where on the I-400 this is but the Tracks are not railroad style tracks but construction channel.

You'll want to get I-400 by Sakaida, Nila & Takaki. It offers the best reference work on these monsters that, like the Yamato class battleships before them, were another example of the flawed Imperial Japanese Navy strategy.
