    Delta III question.

What is the extra, circular do-dad on the rear deck of the Delta. I see a hatch and a rescue buoy but what is the other one?

Hi Scott, we left you hanging here (sorry mate, still catching up here)

The fwd one is the rescue chamber (on the AKULA it's in the sail, pop-up version)
The middle one is the rear hatch
The aft one is the emergency buoy

    Grtz,
    Bart

It's on the backside of the picture Scott....those Russians always come up with new ways to camouflage things.

Pictures are an example of DELTA III type escapes.....they are not all DELTA III subs. As far as I can see this picture is a DELTA IV as is the first picture, the second one is a DELtA III

Your initial picture is one of these:

        K-211
        K-223
        K-424
        K-443
        K-490

Your picture of the one with the 7blade props (its the one and only) showing in your ZULU built is the K-44, her tail looks like this.

Yes I know....I need to get a life……..this is getting ridiculous …….I start recognizing built numbers of subs by looking at the details in pictures.......I need to go and see Dr Phil.

This is terrific. I had no idea what the arse of that boat looked like. I'm going to have to make a few changes.

Do you have any more photographs of K-44?

You’re not helping mate LOL.......these are the pictures I'm sure of........did you noticed the extra fixed flow directors/stabilizers planes on your lovely K-44 (behind the scoops and in front of the tail stuff)?...... in the last two pictures below you will see them better one directing the flow up one directing the flow down.

                grtz,
