    Engel 1/70 Type 212A is now in production

    Engel just e-mailed me to announce that their Type 212 is now in production and able to be ordered.

    Not sure if the electronics and cylinder are included or extra. Looks like its intended as a dry hulled sub?

    yes its dry hull, this was touted for summer release, obviously they were thinking about southern hemisphere. Thats not a bad price for what you get, their sub slook more user friendly with eavery new release

    Just read about the mast feature, ok its a sizeable E187 adder, but its configured to operate when the piston tank reaches 80% fill (which is typically the hull just below surface). When the piston tnak reaches this point, the pressure in the hull caues the mast system to rise (looks like some kind of trigger, combined with the pressure). When the boat surfaces and pressure drops the masts retract. Another beneift of this is , if you had a hull breach then the pressure inside the hull will drop, and your masts retract. So if you are running at scope depth and you see the masts disappearing!!!! time to head for the beach. Very Neat
