    New Servos

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=14833 Here is a new type of servo that uses magnetic induction rather that a potentiometer. It also says that it has a Titanium alloy gear train. Go figure.

Blast- wish I'd seen those before I started converting some servos of mine to encoder based feedback- would have saved me a job.

They do another servo in that range for $27, and for the level of technology you're getting, these servos are pretty good value.

For robotics these servos are a god send.

Would someone please tell me if and how these servos might be of advantage to the RC Sub crowd.

        Thanks for your time,

Not much. They are useful for applications where the servo has to do a lot of duty. Also these servos feature titanium gear sets, and that pushes the price up considerably.

Something new to tinker around with. Like synthesized radios , they may become very popular in the coming years, who knows.
