Just received an sv1 6v solenoid valve from Caswell tu use as a vent for the ballast tank in my wtc. The only way this could work is if I installed it outside the wtc however I assume that it must be waterproofed before I do this. I was thinking of plasti dip but the way it is made I think it will damage the solenoid if I plasti dip it. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? This is for a Revell Type 7 with D&E WTC. The original valve leaked all summer and I tried everything to make it stop. It's a small leak but I have to command a blow almost every 5 or 6 minutes of surface running.

Permit me to send you a new vent valve assembly.
Until about a year ago the SD vent valve had been the least reliable component of the system. I found a flaw in my tooling that was permitting some vent valve bodies to be cast with a very small blow-hole around the seat that I sometimes failed to catch during testing. That shortcoming has since been resolved.
Give me your mailing address in an e-mail along with what you need (the vent valve and any other fittings that might be useful to you). dmeriman@aol.com
