    I meant the x,y resolution, which is dictated by the LCD screen resolution rather than the z height.

    I was looking at resin printing for some fittings for a very small tug I made. Most parts have been hand made, just a small number of bits would benefit from 3d printing namely the bollards and the anchor windlass. The scale is very small at around 1/140, so I wondered if the resin printer could resolve detail on gears this size as i know it's well beyond the scope of FDM. The height of windlass is only about 5mm, I think the frames would be easy to render, but not sure the gear teeth would come out, as they'll be tiny.

    I print at 0.05mm layers, can go to 0.02mm but that sometimes mess things up, so I stick to 0.05mm all the time. I lknow about the bureaus, they were not able to print my props, the reason is that the post processing is so abrasive.

    What's the absolute limit with these resin printers? The XY resolution seems to pan out at around 0.05-.0.1mm (1.25-2.5 thou) resolution, which should be adequate for all but the finest of detail. Most bureaus don't quote below 0.3mm details.

    While still prepping the 209 for moulding and in between wax coats I dag this one out and started some corrections! Also some beautiful 3D props from Bart are on the way.
