First 3d print from Nautilus Drydocks

Just completed my first sub 3d print, a Los Angeles Class 688. I worked on subs for 35 years at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine and I specifically worked on the Groton for 1 year on a special project. Lots of fond memories. The print came out beautifully and I hope my paint job did her justice. She looks great on my man cave wall. I printed her full size, about 5 feet long, and it took about 60 hours total print time. The stand also came from the ND and I added a nameplate to say it was the SSN 694.

She's a beauty! Just missing the guts she needs to get wet, lol. Very good work!

      Very nice!
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Sweet. You did a good job getting the swirl out of the 3-D printing.
Of the approximately 40,000 men who served on U-boats in WWII, it is estimated that around 28,000 to 30,000 lost their lives.

Unfortunately she is only for display. I’m not into the wet versions at the moment. Thank you though for the comment.
