I appreciate the information on the VllC/44. After following some of your builds, it would have really surprised me if it had been a kit! You are a master sir!

Thanks Rob,
As for your question, it is not the Arkmodel, but a type VIIC/44 scale 1:35, build from scratch.
Pictures allways makes things explain better, and i like to document the journey of my projects.

A magnificent job turning a hole in the ground into a purpose built man-cave! Well done, sir! I hate you.
Model building to architecture -- is there anything you can't do? What the hell is it with your European's? You make the rest of us look like slackers.
David
Your new shop is fantastic, to say the least! I have been following your remodel, and David is right!
I do understand how it is to build submarines in a 12'X12' bedroom! I have 24 1:96 scale and larger in this room!! Crazy!
I do have a question for you? The photo of the Vll on your desk. Is it the 1:48 scale Arkmodel? Thanks for sharing your "Man Cave" build with us, and all the photos!

It's in my blood to be a Jack of all trades, i can do most basic stuff myself, like plumbing/heating and ventilation, electrician, wall/ceiling builder, laying down floors, and cabinetbuilder, i think the biggest problem with us Europeans is money, it has to be done cheap, materials don't cost that much, and my hours are free.
And yes David, still Hate you too!!!!!

Despite i'.m late, still merry Xmas to you bubbleheads.
Work on moving the cave is done, pictures,
Part of the workbench and display of my boats.
Storage and Documentation.
As you can see i like order, dispite some people advice chaos is the best.
The type VII is opened up and the gutts of the XVIIb are sorted out of the pile.
The V80 is butchered for maintenance.
The metal corner, all the metal stuff is kept inside the draws.
Made a spare workingbench using my workmate, charching the XVIIb, i still wonder how i managed todo all of this inside that tiny bedroom.

Thanks Nick,
Moving the cave underground is in full progress, goal is to get things running this weekend.
Honestly, i rather build boats instead of basements, the work involved sharpened my buildingskills, builded up from scratch, SWMBO did also more as her fair share, i'm proud on her.
Total time from the start of the build by contractor untill the end, 8 months, but it was worth it.

This was the start as shown on the vid i made, ready to pour the constructionfloor.
When the constructionfloor was done the guys started with rebar to make the walls.
The wall where first cladded with forms, then they poured in the concrete, this is the result after a week hardening.
Placing the construction which will carry the new floor, the spaces between are filled up with prefab concrete blocks, when all laid down they poured again concrete to create the new floor of my livingroom.
The newly created space under de floor of the livingroom, i do have to share it with SHWBO, so half of it is mine for the new cave.
Last month we ended all construction and flooring in the basement, i'm now in the process of taking down the old cave and move it underground, workingbench is allready done as the plancks for the models and some needed storage.
All in all it took 4 months to round things up, it was a bit of a adventure, but i will be ready this winter to check all boats and start with ramping up the build of the type XXVIIb.
End of this week i hope to show the pics of the new cave.
Manfred.
