I would like to post some pictures and plans of some WW1 u-boats I have in the works. I also need to talk to Mr, Merriman if you get a chance. I am going to need a dive system for my u-boats pretty soon. enjoy the ride. craig

    Hi Guys
here is some info on the U-111 that I drew up. I have not built a model off of these yet. I am still working on my UCII which will be awesome. if someone is really good with auto-cad you might want to run it thru that to check it all out. I do not see any problems. there are some good photo's of the U-111 out there. check ebay do a net search. half the fun is finding your info. the victory bond boats are very unique. you can read up on UB-88 at ub88.org. enjoy craig

Your U-111 appears to be about 60" long. I take it that you scratch built it?

                UB-88

                Hello Greenman
are you talking about the U-111 plans or my 78 inch UB-88? I am building three WW1 U-boats this winter. 78 inch UCII minelayer, working on it now. 83 inch U-111 and the UB-88. I am also collecting photo's of all them plus U-117. it takes time but you can find some great photo's of them. a friend from Germany sent me some awesome U-111 photo's today from a U-boote museum. we swapped photo's. always fun to do. yes I scratchbuild all my boats. once I get My UCII built I will share my patterns with all the members. keep in mind I want to build it first. I get a kick out of doing pattern work. may not be as good as Dave. but I set my standards off his work. have a Merry Christmas the Oneill's

                    hello Greenman
the UB-88 is scratch built, I used Rossler frames, my plans which I drew off of photo's from Gary Fabian of ub88.org. I am sure you have seen his sight. the model is 78 inches long epoxy hull. epoxy is great until it it time to sand and fill. are there any quick set epoxy fillers out there?? so far I have found none. then there is cost, so this is my first and last big epoxy hull. the U-111 and UCII will be polyester. any body have U-101 photo's?? I am looking. it is another set of plans in the works. my have photo's this weekend of the UCII and my U-101 plans. have a great week Craig

Im not sure. I use products like Evercoat Sand and Fill or spot fillers from various manfgs.

I like the shape of the bow and the sail, very distinctive.
