    The winner of the competition

    MODEL SUBMARINE COMPETITION

    1. Walter type-17b, scale 1/30 MFR1964

    2. Japanese B1, I-25 in 1/72 OZTRUCK

    3. USS POGY in 1/72
    - SLATS

My scoring criteria for the Model Submarine category is: difficulty of build, innovative fabrication techniques, clarity of presentation (writing and pictures), symmetry and quality of the build, and whether the completed submarine model actually made it into the water and achieved its objectives in a scale-like manner. Very few of the 2011 entries have gotten that far.

Congratulations to the winners! Great subs and an inspiration to us beginners!
      Peace,
      Tom
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Thanks Guys for awarding me the first place, i was more or less surpriced, because i'm just in the first stage of building, if i'm lucky she will see some water this year.

              Chris,

Congratulated with the second place, you made a great boat, rebuilding a sub to your own favourite type is a immense task, in a way you get stuffed with problems created by others, you solved it beautiful.
You also gave me a idea for in the future when the type XVIIb is finished, first have to do some research.

              Greetings Manfred.

                  Thanks Chris,

Those details are driving me mad, but once done, it's one hurdle less, this year she will see some water, if it's in the tub or open water depends on the progress.

                  Greetings Manfred.
