Last month I saw a ready to go type VII. Showed it to my wife. They wanted around $ 1,300.00. She craped. But it was ready to go. So I said I'd just build one. I'm sure I've spent around that and no where's near getting my first boat wet. Just dropped $ 300.00. Spent $ 79.00 the other day. $ 600.00 for type VII s/d and kits. The Revell type VII. ($ 100.00).
