Cool toy from the 1960's. Purely mechanical action.

I could never get mine to work. Seeing it rebuilt to as close to original configuration as possible was a treat, and the cherry on top was the pool footage. Loved it! Cam programmed and actuated sequencer -- analog programming and control at its finest! Ah, I so miss the clarity of the good old days when electrons were the servant, not the master, and we could work on our own cars with wrenches, screwdrivers, and the occasional hammer. Thanks so much for posting this.Who is John Galt?Comment

Some more to wet modeler appetites and imaginations. Remember Halibut only operated Regulus 1. Never Regulus 2. Drawing below is her internal arrangements in her 'Operation Sand Dollar' guise after her conversion at the Mare Island NSY Secret 'car chop shop'. Later to do more on the Parche. An old modeler that lived up in American Canyon, California just a few miles north of Vallejo & Mare Island was a former ship fitter at Mare Island, and bult models for extra income in retirement for officers and sailors. He made wood models of Halibut too calling her his little baseball bat because of its unique casing shape forward.

Although I do want to try making a simple cam operated system for a free running boat(sub) just for the halibut.
